Easter

Easter falls on Sunday March 31’st this year with that being said that leaves minimal time to plan a gathering or order an Easter basket or gift so... why not make it yourself?  If you happen to be able to pull everyone together to celebrate there is a game at the end of the blog that all can participate in.

Do it Yourself Easter Baskets

1.     Go to your local arts and crafts store and pick up a plain Easter basket.

2.     Be sure to pick up yarn, paste or glue, glitter, multiple paints (colors should be bright and cheerful), you can buy shredded paper or shred your own to layer the basket with, and last but not least a bow to top it off.

3.     Purchase items to place in the basket such as plastic eggs (to put smaller items or candy in), Peeps marshmallow candies are an Easter staple, Stuffed Bunnies, Solid chocolate Bunnies, Jelly Beans, and chocolate eggs filled with caramel are a few to begin with.

4.     To assemble your basket apply paint of your choice (allow time to dry), add glitter with paste or glue, add shredded paper to the inside of your basket to house your candy and other Easter goodies, finally fill basket.

Another traditional Easter activity is the Egg hunt, which is held at family gatherings, friend’s homes, church’s or public event’s. In an Easter egg hunt the person with the most eggs, after all eggs have been found, is deemed the winner and receives a prize, sometimes prizes are also awarded to the first person to find an egg or the person with the smallest or largest egg as well. Eggs can be hidden indoors and outdoors and can be hard-boiled or plastic filled with candy.

Have a happy and safe break and Easter Weekend!
