Fall & Halloween: Bake Sale Treats and Snacks

Halloween is right around the corner – which means it’s time to put our sweet tooth to work and indulge in delicious sweets. To get into the Halloween spirit, there’s no better way than to bake a variety of festive snacks. Here are some ideas to whip up for your school’s next bake sale that will surely be a hit.

Peanut butter, oatmeal, Reese’s pieces, and chocolate chips all in one cookie – what could be better? These “Monster” cookies are super easy to make and a great baked treat for the autumn months.

Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Combine the eggs, sugars, vanilla, corn syrup, baking soda and salt in a mixer. Next, add peanut butter and melted butter. Mix. Add in the flour, and oats – combine the whole mixture. Then, you’re going to want to add in the Reese’s Pieces and chocolate chips. Measure out about 1.5 inch balls onto a non-stick cookie sheet, and flatten slightly. Bake for 11 to 12 minutes if you want them soft, and about 12-15 minutes for a harder cookie. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before transferring them onto a plate. Once you’ve done this, serve and enjoy!

If you are more of a cupcake lover, another great idea for your school’s fall bake sale could be these white chocolate-dipped pretzel rods.

All you need is a package of regular pretzel rods, orange and red colored sugar or sprinkles, and white chocolate chips. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper and put the sugar or sprinkles on separate plates, spreading them out evenly. Next, start by melting 2 cups of chocolate chips in a large bowl in the microwave on high heat, stopping every twenty seconds to stir the chocolate. Once it is all melted, dip each rod, (this recipe yields 20), half way into the chocolate and then roll in the sprinkle color desired. Place the pretzels lined up next to each other on the baking sheet and let them harden for 20-30 minutes. Store in an airtight container and serve immediately.

These nice and easy treats will have everyone at your next bake sale screaming!
